This Privacy Policy explains how Sprout (the "App") handles information. The App is published by B&N Software s. r. o. ("we", "us", "our"). You can reach us at support@bnsoftware.org.
In short: the App works entirely on your iPhone. We do not collect, receive or store any personal data from the App, and the App sends nothing to us or to anyone else.
1. Data processed on your device
The App stores the following only on your device, in storage that belongs to the App and is shared with nothing except the App's own widget:
- Your plants: the names, looks, watering and feeding schedules and notes you enter.
- Care history: the dates and times you watered or fed each plant.
- Photos you add (Pro): when you add a photo to a plant's diary, you pick it with the iOS photo picker. The App receives only the photos you choose, not your photo library, and keeps a copy on your device.
- Settings: reminder time and similar preferences.
This information never leaves your device and we never receive it. You decide what to enter, and you can delete it at any time (see section 6).
The App does not access your location, contacts, camera, microphone, Apple Health or advertising identifier, does not read your photo library, and does not need the internet to work.
2. What we do not do
- We have no accounts, servers or databases for the App.
- We do not use analytics, crash reporting, advertising, tracking or third-party SDKs.
- We do not sell, rent or share personal data, and we do not track you across apps or websites.
3. Services provided by Apple
Some features rely on Apple, which handles data as an independent controller under its own terms and privacy policy, not on our behalf:
- Purchases. Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we do not receive your name, payment details or Apple ID. The App only asks the App Store, on your device, whether Pro is active.
- Widgets and notifications. The widget and the "Water Plant" action run on your device as part of iOS. Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device; they are not sent through any server.
- Backups. Depending on your settings, the App's data may be included in your iCloud or computer backups of the device.

4. If you contact us
If you write to support@bnsoftware.org, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use this only to answer you, based on our legitimate interest in replying to your request (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We keep the correspondence only as long as needed to handle your request and in any case no longer than 2 years, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. We do not share it with anyone except the provider of our email service, which stores it on our behalf.
5. Our website
Our website bnsoftware.org, where this policy is published, does not use cookies, analytics or tracking. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse.
6. Retention and deletion
Data in the App stays on your device until you delete it. To delete a plant together with its history and photos, open it and choose Edit → Delete Plant. To delete everything, delete the App. Copies in your device backups are managed by you and Apple.
7. Your rights
If the GDPR or similar laws apply to you, you have the right to access, correct and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing and to data portability, within the limits set by law. For data in the App you can exercise these rights directly on your device, because we never receive it. For correspondence with us, write to support@bnsoftware.org.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU country where you live or work. In Slovakia this is the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic (dataprotection.gov.sk).
8. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13, or under the minimum age set by the law of your country. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Security
Your data is protected by the security features of iOS, such as data protection while your device is locked with a passcode. Keep your device secure and up to date.
10. Changes to this policy
If the way the App handles data changes, we will update this page and the date above before the change takes effect.
